he was the 2nd highest starter behind Messi last year. He isn't a bit part player at all.
He's not the featured player of the squad though is he? At Arsenal, he was the man. He's got an ego, it could be a factor

It's not like there weren't other options though
Barca seemed motivated to get him to appease part of the fan base who were merked they let him go originally. It was important that he came "home"

Where did you get that most Barca fans don't like him? I remember them being pretty happy when they brought him in.
Plus he started in the majority of the CL matches and also started in 3 of the 4 Classico matches last season.

It was a PR exercise, Signing a player for 30 million that they let go for 3 million.
They never really needed him, with Thiago coming through and now Fabregas has basically blocked Thiago's space into the 1st team Thiago decided to go.
Guardiola's transfer dealings at barca were pretty terrible imo
