The woman's story wasn't that she was asleep, it was that she was "sleepy", and that she "sleepily" told him to make sure he was wearing a condom. He replied "yeah, yeah" and went for it, which she "allowed". Turns out he wasn't wearing rubber after all. She wasn't happy.
As they were both naked in bed, and had been having consensual sex all night, I struggle to define this as rape. You can call it caddish, arrogant, sleazy, seedy, perverted, male-**** or whatever...but rape it's not.
But Assange is 'known' to be a "rapist" by most of the world's online population. He is put in the same basket as genuine rapists, who genuinely hurt women.
And all this because he dared to reveal that video of shoot-em-up soldiers in a helicopter...
