Exactly. Aside from the Rashford chance they created very little. The penalty and Martial's late 1v1 that doesn't happen if we aren't unfairly behind were the other chances and they don't happen with competent refereeing or VAR. Much like Arsenal they scored a screamer and an illegitimate goal and we lost because we missed our chances. It's annoying but doesn't mean we played poorly.

My point is more that it is a bit early to go all "Eddie Howe is such a brilliant, ambitious manager who won't accept just being mid table" and whatever else people want to draw out. I like Howe but to this point his teams have conceded a ton of goals every year. If they can get through this one without reverting to that trend I'll be impressed cup or not.
