The Champions League having VAR starting after the group stage is almost as ludicrous as the FA Cup only having it at PL grounds. Napoli would be playing tonight possibly and at a minimum Van Dijk would be suspended three games because there is no way VAR doesn't send him off in that decisive group game. Instead it'll probably send them through in Germany. Ridiculously unfair to change things like that in the course of a competition.
