Yes, notorious temper. Yesterday again stupid yellow card for the totally avoidable incident with Lainer. Didn't watch the first half. At the weekend he got triggered and had to be restrained because Cercle players planted a flag; forgetting they had done exactly the same only a short while ago.
You could easily assemble an entire collection of these.
E.g: Here is him hitting Mata in the face.
Or his ongoing battle with Mitrovic from Gent (him hitting him on the back of the head; resulted in a 4 game ban if I remember correctly. In the meantime he has also punched him in the front of the head but somehow he only got a yellow card for that).
It's not that he's gone off the boil but his finishing isn't all that- it's frustrating (if you like Brugge, I don't). Yesterday in all fairness he was sublime, but could, again, have scored more.

This period was always going to be exceptionally tough for Solskjaer. Noone now realistically expects progress in the champions league, with or without these two, and missing the FA cup was always a given, but now Martial as well as Lingard out of the Liverpool game is a real body blow.
Can Solskjaer do a Pochettino and continue on regardless of two of his most important players missing? He will certainly have to show exceptional tactical acumen and develop different modes of attack, just how do you play a quick counter attacking game built on speed without the speed?
This couldn't have come at a worse time for Solskjaer, but passing such a tough examination would very possibly show he has what it takes and is truly equipped for the job full time.
Why do Liverpool always get so lucky?

I would say absolutely essential to the system Solskjaer has been playing, in the main, so successfully given the misfiring or unsuited alternatives, Sanchez, the one and slow paced Mata and Lukaku (or Rashford) perhaps out of position out wide.

League of Ireland kicks off tonight. Unfortunately my club were relegated last season. Dundalk are heavy favourites but will miss that guidance of Stephen Kenny who has gone off to manager Ireland's U21's before taking over the national team. Vinny Perth takes charge, a man with whom I got very drunk with once. Relatively inexperienced but was part of Kenny's backroom team.
