Benzema never seems to do much. I dunno how he stays in the team. There must be several better strikers they could have acquired instead.

They don't need to do much except slot and he can slot. Higuain used to miss chance after after chance before slotting. I reckon he cost Madrid at least 2 CL trophies due to his misses. He dine the same against Spurs where he should have had about 5 goals. Good goalscorer but misses a hell of a lot of chances.

Higuain not only ruined a couple of CL runs for Real with his woeful finishing but he did the same in the world cup final,he's just not dependable in big games,he scored 2 against spurs and still his misses stop Juve taking control of that tie,he had a easy chance to make it 3-0 then again to make it 3-1 from the penalty spot,Cavani has the same reputation in big games,remember those sitters in the Chelsea QF in both legs and the games against barcelona in that crazy tie last season where he missed a bus load of sitters.

Benzema is reliable,he does the donkey work for Ronaldo,and is adept at making runs and creating space for real's wide players,and he's pretty lethal when he has a chance in the box.

There's only a handful of top strikers in Europe which is why I think Madrid have been happy to keep Benzema for quite a while as like you said he understands his role.

I'm sure it would sound like sour grapes to a Barcelona fan but I genuinely don't think the Madrid players give [Poor language removed] about the league. No motivation for them it seems, when the Champions League rolls in to town they look like a completely different side.
