I don't get why VAR was needed for the penalty? You can't run up then stop; fainting then taking it is ok, a la Aldridge, but you cannot come to an absolute stop like Son did, and you can't hold hands with two of your players before it's taken (i.e. two Spurs players were stood right next to him when taken because they had no idea what he was gonna do so obviously went to follow it up!).

Didn't see the actual foul for the pen, but heard it started outside of the box, so why was it a penalty? It's always been where the foul is first committed, no?

Rule changed two years ago after a kick off about them in the Champions League.

"Among several minor changes to the laws regarding penalties, potentially the most interesting is the amendment to yellow card a penalty taker who "illegally feints" once his run-up is complete. This means slowing to a stop immediately before shooting is not allowed, with a yellow card and an indirect free-kick to the opposition the result."

Spurs player decided to fall over once he'd got into the box.

Hang on mate, I'm still watching Socrates goals here...

I'll enjoy Dave Beasant saving one from Aldo in a mo, and then I'll click your link.

That was stupid, Savage made a fool out of himself there, everyone should know you can't run like that, didn't even need VAR
