I think it was just so unexpected he'd try that with his right foot. Wrapped the ball right around the next defender and it was perfectly weighted for Aguero.

What he was saying was a bit daft, and translated to "the only world-class striker that has come out of the spurs academy recently is a world-class striker". The fact is, a lot of investment went into the academy, and it regularly produces Premier League players.

I think a lot of clubs have "Harry Kane" players in their academy - they just seldom get a chance to prove themselves. It's not even like Kane hit the ground running, either - he'd played nearly 100 senior career games before he got going, which is well outside of the "reject bin" tolerance that many clubs operate.
