Ross looked sharp at set pieces as well in that season. Even under Moyes last few years, if we got a set piece you were confident it was going in.

It's proper weird isn't it? Especially with Ronko being a freekick master.

Baines barely takes any. We don't have a proper corner taker either (Rooney, Sandro, Baines, Mirallas).

Only in the last few days, somebody on here mentioned that Baines is unable to strike the ball the same after the foot injury he suffered.

To be fair, I'd never heard of it before but it could account for why he is no longer a regular penalty and corner taker - it all diminished suddenly.
