This is the fourth Premier League game this season to not see a shot on target in the first half, and the third to involve Liverpool.

And the fourth I have been on commentary duty for. Let's have some action!

Half of Liverpool's game is just sheer physicality. If you can match their work rate and not be stupid enough to play tippy tappy at the back they're not brilliant. Put the onus on them to break you down and they'll come up with relatively little. Newcastle playing it long and battling in midfield have nullified them. As usual Liverpool will now revert to playing for a penalty or hoping for a deflection.

Back of Newcastle's shirt has a blue patch identical to the refs blue. Seems bizzare, especially considering the sensitivity of competing teams having even a whiff of clashing
