I never suggested otherwise, just that Oscar is one of many coaches the player has had at Barcelona & the NT. Apart from being persona non grata at the club due to the current board, he's also an example of a youth player from Barcelona who never made it at the club with the first team...Ironically, there are similarities between the former coach & his pupil which would explain the basis of his comments
Yet, Oscar also said this on Deulofeu:
Not every cantera kid is going to have a personality of Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta or Messi...Some will be like Pique or Cesc, or LSW who bears some similarities to Deulofeu as well (personality wise)..It doesn't preclude them from playing at the club
And a couple of years?...Cules who have followed the club for more than a decade know the star youth players and no name other than perhaps Bojan (And obviously Leo) comes close to Deulofeu
The part about his ambitions being separate from the club, is more of wishful thinking...or at the very least the consequence of very recent events...Whether that holds longterm remains to be seen
Absolutely...Did at any time during his first loan spell did he sound like a player itching to stay at Everton or return to succeed at Barcelona (Even with Neymar)?...There are quotes, easy to find, that support my point...Moreover, the very famous mocking of CR upon his return to the club from Everton underscored his excitement to be with the 1st team - even if was short lived and ultimately a painful experience before being discarded to Sevilla...So bitter?...I'm sure he is, all you have to do is look at his expressions on the bench upon his arrival and how Emery tried to pick his spirits up initially
It was obvious, he was very upset
You get rejected from your boyhood club after being the top Segunda player, then benched & humiliated by a mid table club in Sevilla - where else could he have gone in Spain?...A lesser club?...Not for a player of his ambition...It was only logical that he'd crave a return to where the fans supported him and the coach showed confidence...Lest Toffees forget however, he complained about his lack of minutes that first season on loan with Everton as well
Obviously his personality does not exclude him playing for Barcelona, never said it did, but it could well affect whether he is happy with the bit part role behind Messi/Suarez/Neymar you believe he should have for the next few years.
Of course he was absolutely delighted to go back to Barcelona the first time, again never argued different. However he also, even in his interview stating how pleased he was to return and how he very much missed his home club, talked about "a really good year at Everton" rather than a place he hated and was desperate to get out of like you seemed to think.
Again fully agree about the disappointment about his loan to Sevilla which is why I referenced it in the one bit of my post you didn't quote "His whole demeanour has been different from last summer when he clearly felt that he was being banished without being given a chance" - you seem to be trying to make up arguments on my behalf

.
Where we do disagree however at his current reaction - having been keen to read his body language, interviews, tweets and video at his delight at his return to Barcelona a year ago, now he is saying/doing all the same when coming back to Everton you don't seem to believe Gerard himself!
When he says he loves Everton and hopes to stay for many years is he lying? He didn't need to go so OTT, he could have just said he was very happy to be back and hoped to contibute to the team - much like he said in the Barca interview
If it was only logical for him to crave a return to us then why did you post this on another forum
http://www.barcaforum.com/showthread.php/316-Gerard-Deulofeu/page379
"As it is, I don't understand the value for him at a club like Everton where he is clearly the biggest talent there and in a league where he is afforded the sort of space he'll rarely see with Barcelona...Particularly when you consider being the top dog at a mid level club like Everton isn't preparing him for how to handle ego or teamwork when he won't be vying for the biggest trophies there...No one questions his attacking prowess, especially in space"
Surely by your very own reasoning there were far better choices that Deulofeu could have taken if he was keen to get back to Barcelona soon - even humbling himself to take a "lesser" Spanish club as that would have put to bed some of the supposed arrogant calls and prove that he could work with little space. iirc Halilovic is at Sporting and Suarez is at Villareal, aren't they the sort of moves he'd make if he was trying for a rotational role at Barcelona next summer?
By both his words and deeds it looks like Gerard has moved on with his career - not necessarily ruling out going back in the future but equally not directing all his desire to achieving it soon.
