The Sunderland 7-1 was almost eight years ago. Eight bloody years ago. SK Brann was a year later but they were a poor team.

Would love another thrashing of someone, but I just do not think we are clinical or tenacious enough. We don't build up enough momentum.

Overall though, is it just me or are there far more high-scoring games in the Premier League these days? Seems to be far more goals.

There's always been the occasional rout in each season of some lowly minnow, but scoring rates seem much higher even against reasonable teams.

Statistics will probably say otherwise I presume; I'm just going off my gut feeling.

We could've thrashed Hodgson's Liverpool but held off for the same reason you suggest.

Also agree on the impression of higher-scoring games...not just here but in the other European leagues too. I reckon stats comparing the last 5 years goals with 2005-2010 would support this.
 
Watching the Football league goals on Sky, it just said 27 year old James Vaughan got his 3rd career red card. 27 years old......does that make you feel old.
 
How did that goal happen I thought Ashley williams was the second coming of Franco baresi judging by e press the last two weeks?
