Going on 36 too...amazing. Any word on whether he'll last till 38 and play in the World Cup?

Just revisited that goal in the World Cup again....guaranteed mood lifter...

He's always coy about that when asked but always with a smile.

Yes. He's definitely pathing the way for a 2018 world cup finals campaign which might come in the form of continuing his football in an even less demanding league like the middle east that will get him there in good shape. (not to mention the millions he'd bank along the way)

Everything now is about prolonging his career to meet that target, scoring plenty of goals along the way of course. In his interviews he still comes across as someone desperate to please. His drive is ridiculous!

His physique will enable him to play till 40 I think if he takes very good care of himself and is smart.

If he can also give the Australian A-league a go along the way, I think he will have played his career to absolute perfection that will further his brand.

Austria have qualified for the Euros now and their manager went to the post match press conference in a beret and ate a baguette.

#banter innit?

I know it looks like I'm picking on Adebayor btw, but I really think he needs taking down a peg or two

His attitude stinks and he's been given chance after chance that he hasn't deserved

Yes, he's good at football, but he's an absolute pillock

What really gets my goat is how he never seems to learn anything from his mistakes. He's never shown any contrition or remorse for being a berk. He acts like the world owes him and has been given his way far too many times

To heck with him, and all who sail in him

I went to see him against Bangladesh last week. What struck me was that he was made captain before the game, but ended up starting on the bench. When he came on, Milligan (stand in skipper) went to give him the armband but Cahill told him to keep it on.
Gutted that my son never got to see him score and punch the corner flag though

ahhh a shame! but Timmy is ageless so another opportunity might yet present itself for you over the coming years.

He's making it all the way to 2018 mate. trust me

Shows how different someone like Timmy & Stevie Me were!

My favourite part of Stevie getting sent off against the mancs is that when he came on he took the armband off Henderson, and then 20 seconds later he had to give it him back haha.

Even his national team don't want anything to do with him now

Hopefully he learns from this and actually improves his attitude

I doubt it though
He's 31. He's waiting out the last year of his contract and then he will be off to the MLS earning a ludicrous wage where he will probably be a big success because he will be able to get by and star without putting much work in.

FA Cup tie moved for cheese show & the club rising from the ashes

It started with 736 clubs dreaming of a money-spinning run but this season's FA Cup is already down to 392 teams.

The third hurdle on the road to Wembley - after the extra preliminary round and the preliminary round - will see another 116 eliminated over the next few days as clubs battle for a second qualifying round place.

BBC Sport takes a look at some of the stories to feature in the first qualifying round.

Cheesed off
Waterlogged pitches, international call-ups, floodlight failure... all frequent reasons games have to be rearranged.

But when was the last time you heard a match had been been moved because of a cheese show?

Frome Town's tie with West Country rivals Chippenham Town has been brought forward from Saturday to Friday because it clashes with the town's biggest event of the year.

The Frome Cheese Show showcases over 1,200 cheese entries from around the globe

The Frome Agriculture and Cheese Show attracted 20,000 visitors last year and officials of the Southern League Premier Division club acted amid fears the attendance would be hit if the tie was not rescheduled.

"Chippenham are only a few miles down the road and we'd like to think we could expect a crowd of around 500 or 600," Frome secretary and managing director Ian Pearce told BBC Sport.

"But the cheese show is huge, the biggest event in the town's calendar.

"It would have had a big knock-on effect in terms of the attendance had we not re-arranged the date.

"A lot of our fans like going to the cheese show, including our chairman, Jeremy Alderman, who is one of the show's sponsors."
