How come Iceland are suddenly very good?

How do Iceland compete at anything? There's like 20 people living there.

As crazy as it sounds I'd consider Williams to be in the top five premiership centre backs

I remember a good few years ago Scotland played Iceland in an under 21 playoff, they had the likes of sigurdsson in their team. They looked very good then, I guess this is the same group of players coming of age

I think I recall them having had a major overhaul in their game, youth/coach development etc, and that talented group were the result of it. They are doing the business for sure, I watched them beat Holland comfortably earlier in the group, could be a team to watch at the euros!

Just watched the highlights, the backheel in the leadup to the goal was lovely.

with better players around him he would have had an assist and a goal late on too, he surprised me a lot, absolutely ran his bum off late on giving Russia some respite on the break.

Was at the heart of everything they did against Sweden, looked back to his form of Euro2012 but with much better vision etc, change of international manager has done him a massive favour
