BR family back from Hellas Verona 1 Roma 1. Watching Lazio v Bologna on hotel TV (2-1 atm).

Fantastic atmosphere in Verona and absolutely no trouble. Verona fans fascinated at Irish Shamrock Rovers and Everton fans taking the time to go to this match ....we bought lovely Hellas t-shirts for €10 each and this helped!!

Verona played with great passion and a bit of skill, and could have won. Roma were too cute with winning frees etc. Dzeko anonymous although credited with an assist for the Roma equalizer which really was down to an excellent 20m shot from Florenzi

I will post a more detailed report in due course.

Verona fans noise level from start to finish was incredible.

Forza Lazio!!! Hung on a bit at the end but thankfully 3 points.

The barman in the hotel is a Napoli fan and went to the tin mine to see them playing the RS. Crap result but he said he went to see Goodison and of course prefers the Blue of Everton over the dark side.

As regards the FSW he couldn't wait to see him go.....no plan B. He is confident for the season (this is the first weekend of matches).

Great day out!! Opera tomorrow!!!

Spurs always look all over the show, that never seems to stop them from spawning top 6 with like a +2 goal differential.

Go to the official City of Verona Box Office in Via Pallone - 5 minutes from the Colliseo. Bring your passport. You also need to have passport when entering the stadium.

I got our tickets yesterday after a short queuing time behind opera buffs. €35 for me and €27.50 for the ladies!!! Yes, women get a decent discount!!!

Nice stadium which was used in Italia 90. I think the capacity is about 38k (guess) and today with large swathes empty either side of the Roma fans I am guessing an attendance of about 30k.....open to correction if official figures available.

We drove from Lake Garda and were back in hotel within an hour of leaving the stadium.

Hope you make it some time.

good stuff mate. Nice one . I read a book on them years ago about some English fella or yank who followed Verona home and away for a season well worth a read

Yes I have read extracts on line. It is fascinating how passionate they are although some of their behaviour to non whites in the past has been very nasty. Today they gave the French guy a huge round of applause when subbed so hopefully they are coming into more acceptable behaviour. Lazio have also moderated a lot in recent years.

I am old enough to remember crap from the Street End in the early 80s. We have moved on although there are still idiots in every support.

If only we could have today's atmosphere at GP!!!

I thought the same at first I must admit but I think those chants have a different meaning in Latin countries as I hear it quite a lot, and also used against white players.
 
WTF were Villa doing there Amalvi will be having nightmares tonight.
