To be honest outside of Kilmarnock I don't really keep up with it now. When I was younger I could easily name every player in the SPL now outside of Celtic, Kilmarnock and maybe Aberdeen I couldn't list a teams first eleven. Scottish fitba's total garbage these days.

P.S Congrats @ToffeeHibs on reaching the CIS cup final, you'll still bottle the final in typical Hibs fashion though.

Haha, let's hope not!

For that reason, Aberdeen winning the Scottish Premiership would be more of an upset than Leicester winning the English Premiership

I await your response

Your argument is literally that because the quality is worse the upset is greater?

That's so stupid as to not need a response.

I'm of the opinion that beating managers like wenger, pellegrini and van gaal and players like ozil, toure and hazard is slightly harder than outfoxing delia and carlton cole.

No

My argument is that Celtic have the dice weighted far more in their favour than Arsenal and Man City do

Leicester can rely on other sides to do them favours against Arsenal and City

Aberdeen do not have the same luxury

Thusly, them winning the League is the bigger upset

Aberdeen winning is David beating Goliath

Leicester winning is David beating Goliath; after Goliath has already some grueling fights with Andre The Giant and Rowdy Roddy Piper first

Still impressive to beat Goliath, but he's been softened up first. Beating a full strength Goliath is much more impressive

But Celtic also aren't as good. They don't have as good players, they don't have as good a manager and they spend less relatively to aberdeen than city do relative to leicester.

An upset at the top level is always more impressive than one at a lower level because there's less flaws to exploit.

Also again Aberdeen finished 2nd last year, they just need one team to slip up. Leicester came 14th, they needed 13 teams all of whom with bigger budgets and better pleyers to slip up.

Aberdeen winning the league, which they won't, would be a fine achievment. But better than wigan winning the fa cup, better than greece winning euro 2004, better than atletico beating messi's barca and ronaldo's real to a league title, better than porto winning the cl, better than montpelleir beating a psg team with a budget 30 times it to the french league? Obviously not.

It would be better than all of those

Greece won in knock out football over a mere 6 games

Aberdeen while have to do it over a full season

The others were all better teams than Aberdeen are right now

Atletico were better than aberdeen, yes. But likewise real and barca were a little better than celtic.

If you're arguing about dice being weighed, the big two in la liga is a hard one to beat.

Or PSG in france, who are so much richer than anyone else that they're unbeaten after 23 games this season and are 24 points clear fo 2nd place, and were beaten to a title over a full season by a montpellier side who'd never won anything before, who came 14th the previous year and who's annual budget (for transfers, wages, canteen pies, lawnmowers etc combined) was 8 million pound less than what psg spent on just one player.

Also, Porto had Jose Mourinho as manager, Madrid Athletic had a good squad, Wigan had a soft semi final draw with Millwall and the benefit of us falling to pieces at Goodison

Leicester have Vardy and Mahrez

Aberdeen have no one close to either of them in their squad

Meanwhile, Celtic have Leigh Griffiths slotting for fun, Craig Gordon between the sticks and a midfield consisting of great young talents such as GMS and Scott Allan, along with sturdy warhorse Scott Brown overseeing everything as captain

Aberdeen pulling this off would be an incredible upset, and my pick for biggest upset of all time

I just... are you trolling me?

Is this a 4 year long con where you say this stuff and inside you're laughing at me for taking the bait?

Bit far fetched to say 'of all time', unless of course you are fishing then well played.

PL winner might end on 75 points this year. That's less a case of Leicester winning it and more everyone else bottling it.
Leicester are in the mainstay just simply playing quick, direct football and it's undermined the concept of intrinsic, possessive being the only way.

As you mention, it's as much credit to them as it is to the fact that the 'top teams' haven't been able to manage the old style.
