for now they seem sort of the same or maybe a bit worse but they will improve under him over time, just hopefully not enough to ever actually do anything noteworthy.

They'll improve. He's a decent manager. Still, he's far from a certainty to do anything of note here in the PL. Ancelotti on the other hand would have guaranteed success.
