On that site (Bleacher Report) I don't know, but I used to follow ESPN's NBA Power Ranking which was a (team) ranking system decided upon by the committee (of one!) that was not necessarily dependant on actual Standings or statistical Rankings...

Ah......you mean sommat like wot happens on RAWK with their "alternative league tables" based on how many times the RS hit the woodwork or when they give a "par score" for each game.
