i was just thinking along the lines of them sharing the CL goals record - well swapping between eachother. they're going to be miles ahead of raul when they're finished - but raul was playing in a time, when, imo, the defending was of a much higher quality and of course offside rules were massively different.

If Argentina had won that game in Rio I don't think it would be much of a conversation. He would be generally thought of as the greatest ever but as it is he's only close because of the lack of international succuss

I think it's a bit that and also a bit that he's played alongside some real world class talent at Barcelona. Maradona didn't have anyone the calibre of iniesta or xavi behind him.
