Yeah that's what a lot said about di Canio at Sunderland

But Sunderland was always an old boy's club; still is...

Look at the debacle that kicked off there over the season. There are various seedy things that occur within the walls of that club and the players are allegedly fireproof when anything is suggested as to cleaning up shop.

The unconfirmed stories we hear about the goings on within that club in our neck of the woods is nothing short of shocking.

And if your face doesn't fit and you are spoiling their fun, you're on your way son...

That's fair enough, not everyone can be a great player. My point is that he's a 100% snide from the few games I've seen him in.

Vardy is far far worse. Wound me up no end that the media was pressuring Hodgson to include him for England after one decent performance against a (jarg) United youth player.

What kind of things are going on mate?

They've won 9 league games in a row and 13 out of the last 14. I would say that's improvement.

While its a great run, theyve always gone on runs at this stage of the year and bag 4th spot.

And the reason why it's 9 on the trot...is because there's some badly pap sides this year.

Burnley today went all out. Arsenal had another gear and still won.

Last season they won 5 on the bounce at this stage.

The season before they were unbeaten in 10, winning 8 and drawing 2.

Just got back home (inlaws) after a meal after going to see Real Zaragoza play Sporting Gijon. Brutal match. I've never been to a 2nd tier match in England but from what I have seen on telly over the years it's much better than here in Spain.
Fair play to Gijon, they brought a good number of supporters to La Romareda and then played the last 25 minutes with 10 men and had glorious chances to win.
The refereeing was way worse than what we see in England.
Zaragoza's left-back got some real vociferous, er, criticism from a sizeable chunk of the crowd. He reminded me of a drunk Unsworth.
But all in all decent entertainment despite the lack of quality, made our match a couple of hours before seem a classic.
Just wondering mate, how much was it for a ticket for this game?

what if they finish 2nd as looks likely?

What's going on with Palace then? Isn't that about 14 wins on the spin playing 1970 style Brazil togger under Pardew? Bet your absolutely loving it atm, team looks free of all pressure and enjoying there football.
Since I started going in 68 this is the best it's been aside from the period between 89 - 91 when we finished third in the old Division 1 and reached an FA Cup final.
I put it down to a number of things;
Sensible owners who are Palace fans.
A squad of players who have a real togetherness (still have six of the playoff final team playing regularly).
One or two players that can play a bit at this level. (Speroni, Ward ,Dann, Jedinak, Macarthur, Bolasie).
No prima donnas
A manager who believes in the squad and lets them play to their strengths.

In reality, it could all go pear shaped if we sell a couple of the best players and we're miles off actually competing seriously for anything, but, by our standards, it's ***** fantastic.
