It not a "crappy" competition mate, its produced some of the finest moments/games in sport in well over a Century, its idiots like Ferguson/Wenger/Mourinho who have disrespected the Cup to such a degree that it maybe doesn't hold the esteem it once held.

Fair enough, but for me it's just a massive borefest. I really couldn't give a toss about watching lower league teams, the standard of average teams in the premiership is bad enough... the standard of lower league clubs is not worth wasting time to watch. Yes you get the odd upset but thats about it, there really aren't that many. The fact the media still bring up shrewsbury beating us 11 years ago tells me everything i need to know about how rare proper upsets are.

Went the Tranmere game today, sat in the Swansea end because the queue for tickets was massive and I could pay on the gate there. Entertaining game but the Swansea fans should be banned from all future sporting events for singing feed the Scousers at a bunch of plazzy's.

Mon The Hibees!

Just got in from work, will watch the second half
I have to say that Stubbs has impressed me with what he's done up there. O'Hanlon had them playing like a rabble. Stubbs has gone to Hibs and they look now - after a dodgy start - a polished team playing some very fluid football. They break forward with a lot of precision and they keep control of the ball excellently.

Hibs look at this stage odds on to come second there and have a crack at the play off.

If Stubbs keeps progressing he's got a bright future in football management.

Future everton manager?

He has got them playing well, they did have a poor start but not surprising as he inherited a shambles! They've got rid of the dead wood and they have a young, exciting team now. My hometown team Falkirk go to Easter road next, not expecting anything from that!

I wonder if Stubbs will come calling for a loan of some everton youngsters? Could be a good place for our kids to go and get some experience!

Battered them in the second half but just couldn't get the winner

I was at that Shrewsbury game and taking aside the crushing disappointment of us losing it remains one of the most memorable games of my football watching life, from winding the window down and asking an old fella,"do you know the way to the Gay Meadow?"(Three hairy ar*ed blokes in a car!lol),seeing Barry Davies outside the ground asking everybody and anyone if they know where the TV gantry was as he'd never been there beforelol
to the genuine disbelief/ecstasy on the Shrewsbury fans faces when Jemson got a last minute winner, proper football, grass roots stuff, yeah it doesn't happen a lot,but when it does its magic, just like when I've been privileged to have seen us go all the way and win it:)

Hibs have won their last 7 away games before today - it was said in commentary anyway. They played Hearts off the park for most of that game and were easily the more creative team. I think Hearts will be relieved they've already built up an unassailable lead and they're not having to compete with Hibs now.

Stubbs has done well here, no question. Future Everton manager? I think he'll have to do it in a more competitive league that the one he's in now and for a few seasons before he's entitled to be linked with us, tbf. Early signs are good though. He knows how to blend a team and get them knocking it to feet and with pace. It's looking promising for him.

Yep Hibs could go on the kind of run that Hearts have done in the first half of the season. If Stubbs gets them promoted and pushes on in the PL then I could see him getting a crack at the Celtic job. If he was to succeed there then it would earn him a job down south. It's all if's and but's at the moment but like you say the early signs are good.

I think McNamara is a shoo in for the next Celtic boss.

He's a good prospect too.

For sure! He's done a great job at Dundee Utd getting the best out of young players, he would be a top contender if Deila gets sacked (which he absolutely will if they don't win the league)

...and Stubbs would possibly take up the vacated Dundee Utd hot seat. One thing's for sure up in Scotland: British managers will get their chance!!
