I didn't watch it, but I've woke up to find the media absolutely swooning over the RS, despite the fact they dropped two points at home to a side that finished below them last season - have I missed something here?

My how they've fallen in the past 12 months. Last season they were blowing teams away, now they're getting pats on the head for draws at home where they have the better of the play.

'There there, Libpool. You wuz defo the best team yesterday. There there. A corner turned etc etc'.

*administers more pats on head*

Mate. It pales in comparison to the Heroes of Real Madrid.

Who went there and played so well they managed to only lose 1-0. One of the best ever performances in Europe by any side. ever.

That's the beauty of them - Rodgers and the RS herd...existing in a bubble of mutual admiration and the logic of simpletons. "Good..hes bringing Borini on...(Borini then gets sent off)....ah that must be why Brendan doesn't play him...hes a waste of space...that's ok then....when do we play Chelsea in that cup semi, La ? ".

And the ever so wonderfully sporting Analfield crowd howled their derision at the complete unfairness of the two yellows for Borini, the victim of hurling the ball angrily to the ground in front of the lino and then re-arranging Cazorla's rib cage.

And Martin Tyler is an absolute embarrassment these days..."an heroic header from Skrtel" in his very excited high pitched voice of utter glee.

Could do with a bloodbath later just to soften Stoke up a bit, because we could do without those butchers decimating our already fragile midfield.

A merry Christmas to one & all.
Good luck over the festive period.
