what is gerrard's role? you never see him as an attacking threat, never in the oppos half. but there is a massive chasm between allen and the defence, a team who plays the x-mas tree formation would have a field day. you see liverpool's centre backs always two on two. isn't gerrard suppose to be a DM? or i just don't see what he does except take penalties.

Field goal kicker (AKA set-piece taker)

The only thing Palace are doing wrong is not getting enough support up to Gayle and Bolasie. Chamakh or Ledley need to be getting up there offering options.

Former QPR striker Bradley Allen: "It's been a contrast of styles with the two sides - Liverpool intricate with their passing and movement and Palace a lot more direct. Yannick Bolasie, in particular, has been outstanding for Palace and caused Javier Manquillo all sorts of problems."

:O what game is he watching? palace have been keeping it on the ground using bolasie's pace on the counter whereas liverpool have been pumping it long to the grock up front. i hate that no-one in the media sees liverpool as a long ball team. all the stats back it up. they scored the most goals from set-plays last season etc.

Motd's Simon Brotherton at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace 1-1 Liverpool

"It was a wonderful start for Liverpool and Rickie Lambert. Palace regained their composure and came straight back at them. Liverpool again not having things their way at Selhurst Park."

Do you think if palace scored first he would have said 'it was a wonderful start for palace'?

Incredible record - there was a great image going around on facebook the other day about it.

Break down of his goals on the beeb here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29507683

Since 2008, 222 goals in 211 games. Over a goal a game for 6 years. Unreal.
