blackett and the other one. i like the look of mcnair. i just don't think united have great strength in depth. luckily for them, it shouldn't really be strengthened due to their limited commitments.

their main players are di maria, rooney and de gea btw. not players like rojo. suppose herrera is a main player and possibly to an extent blind, but falcao had hardly cemented his place yet.

You don't build a defence around two attacking players.

A United first choice defence would be Shaw, Smalling/ Rojo/ Jones, Rafael. Certainly not Blackett and McNair.

and that defence is still shizer ha. they've looked better with blackett and mcnair tbh. rafael is just useless, smalling isn't the player they thought he'd be and shaw. i'm still not convinced on him, very very overated so far.

Nah, Shaw has been 7/10 for the past month, which is what you want from your FB and he's only 18. Was good against Chelsea, City and Palace. Smalling is still only 25 which is young for a defender so plenty of time for him if he can stay clear of long term injury which has blighted his career thus far.

Besides, at the moment they have the 4th joint best defensive record in the league. Behind Chelsea, Soton, City and Swansea.

In short - they will be alright.

It is the unfortunate nature of the modern day football fan to judge on the immediate rather than the long term. A symptom of modern day society if ever there was one! lol
