10 years ago they would have banned him for his own good. In todays society that's not feasible

I`m quite confident, that after this he`ll be " told " to retire.
He seems like an intelligent fella, so I don`t think he`ll be lacking in job offers for things like media and punditry work ( if that`s the direction he`d like to go down ).

I do think the ethical debate is interesting and while Serie A took a stronger stance to ban players with ICDs the medical/research risks suggests the evidence doesn't really support a ban due to safety/SAEs. Plus, Eriksen did go on to play in several leagues with an ICD after his initial cardiac event in 2021, without incident.
However, I suspect a bit traumatic for all the other players who share the pitch if the ICD is triggered to activate during a match
