It’s the total and complete absence of a viable Plan B that’s shocking. That squad, between ageing and poor recruitment for the first time in a while, has gone downhill so rapidly it’s untrue.

The rebuild they need requires the kind of spend they had last summer, and I can’t imagine they can afford to do that. Nobody in the squad they can get £100m for like in years gone by, and I don’t even think Bournemouth would be shelling the customary £20m out for some of this lot!

….Salah an incredible goalscorer for them over the years but he now plays like his competitive football finished at the end of last season. £300k per week at his age has understandably taken the edge off his game.

I think it's a bigger embarassment when you've been beaten so badly that the ref decides there's no point playing any injuries. Not like goal difference is a thing in cups so would have been a pointless exercise playing another 3 or 4 minutes.
