There seems to be 2 tiers in football punishments, if you're upfront and honest you get to break records with point deductions, if you're sneaky and it takes years to solve, just a minimal fine and a suspended punishment

The problem, of course, is that when you allow nation states to own football clubs, they are beyond sporting sanctions. Boris Johnson and co allowed Newcastle to be taken over by the Saudis. Does anybody seriously think Richard Masters or any other opportunist placeman is keen to get on the wrong side of Mohammed Bin Bonesaw? Far easier to pick on some fat Greek, a Thai travel group, and an Everton abandoned by shady shadow owners...

These Chelsea owners, no doubt, have Trump's ear. The Premier League will genuflect in the manner of Keir Starmer.

Meanwhile, Andy Burnham, who was largely shut up and censored when making our case to Sky, will lobby central government for taxpayers "enablement" cash to build Sir Jim'll Brexit's new Man United monstrosity. There will be no gagging by the media in this "important" case.
