Refreshing to see Chelsea breaking the mould of finding the next new top manager.

The thinking for clubs the last few years seems to be:

Portuguese: He’ll be the next Mourinho

Bald: The next Pep

Looks like he should be on a register: The next Klopp

Can remember him doing punditry before he went into coaching. Always seemed much brighter and more insightful than the average pundit. Even made Rooney look like a remotely good manager at Derby too

Agreed, a very btight young manager.The Blue Group or whatever the owners call themselves will still gash it up for him and then bin him off without a thought when it suits them.

A 6 (six!) year deal for Rosenior is absolutely hilarious. If the Chelsea board haven't caked in numerous clauses to the contract for when they sack him within 18 months, then they are even more mental than I thought.

I imagine he’ll be on a pittance compared to past Chelsea managers, so the long contract is probably just a sweetener to guarantee he earns big money in the long run while still only doing a year’s work.
