It’s a lot easier to sign a player for a season or two than convince them that they should give you a good number of years whilst you build a team to get back into Europe.

This is why if by some miracle we got into europe and need to strengthen and increase numbers we need to be looking at the likes of Bournemouth.

Those sides with top young players who are open to sell.

Kroupi could be a good one to have as an alternative to Barry for example.

Man for man I don’t think many or any of SAF’s squads compare, he was just a monumental footy manager.

Mourinho’s 2 players for every position went through my mind and probably runs it closest, but this Arsenal squad for me is even more absurd IMO.

The likes of Ben White and Lewis-Skelly being 3rd choice when I look at our FB situation makes me weep. Eze and Saka justifiably on the bench.

Striker is the least stacked area of the team, but Jesus and Havertz have still scored a decent number of goals when called upon/fit. Gyokeres felt like the No.9 they needed and some of his CF play today defo helped the team but he’s not at the level of the rest of them.

I do wonder if the pl want a mix of winners from top 6 as it helps business. One team winning most years makes the league less competitive and must affect viewing figures
