Sir Stanley MathewsPardon me, I will be more specific.
Has there ever been a football player with some honours system initials attached awarded whilst still a player and actively playing?

There's a pretty good chance it happensImagine if they go down and he gets sacked and Mowbray wins the play offs with West Brom and go up![]()
Not to condone death threats, but referees aren't held accountable for their awful decisions, nor do they have to explain them. Before VAR you could chalk it down to human error, but some like giving Arsenal a goal last season against us, to make it a bit interesting for sky was unforgivable. Denying us a penalty when Rodri handballed it was just as bad. Refs are just playing too a script now.No mention of him making one of the worst decisions in recorded history then?
Feels like a deflection technique
If it happened then I hope they kept the receipts

Refs do get dropped from games from time to time and on the other point, there’s been campaigning for refs to be allowed to explain their decisions but it’s either the leagues won’t allow it or Keith Hackett won’t, not that it’ll matter because fans won’t believe what they say anywayNot to condone death threats, but referees aren't held accountable for their awful decisions, nor do they have to explain them. How did the league try and fail to bin clattenburg, yet hammer coote for a pish take in his own time with his then pals? Look into clattenburg, he was up for breach of contract because of shady company dealings and missing monies. He appealed his dismissal but served an 8 month ban. It took 5 years was it before he ref'd another game for us.Refs do get dropped from games from time to time and on the other point, there’s been campaigning for refs to be allowed to explain their decisions but it’s either the leagues won’t allow it or Keith Hackett won’t, not that it’ll matter because fans won’t believe what they say anyway
Agreed, never seen so many pointless negative passes. If this is the way British football is going I will need to find another sport to watch.Anyone watching Burnley v Leeds? You'd think it was teams down in 17th and 18th. Standard is awful, they'll go straight back down if they come up
I think Keith Hackett just sticks his oar in in the media nowadays, he's not in any position of responsibility.Refs do get dropped from games from time to time and on the other point, there’s been campaigning for refs to be allowed to explain their decisions but it’s either the leagues won’t allow it or Keith Hackett won’t, not that it’ll matter because fans won’t believe what they say anyway
My issue isn't with bad decisions it's with blatant corruption. Would a RS player get sent off for similar tackle? No. Last season at Arsenal, ref was told it was a handball and just overruled it to make title race interesting. Howard Webb ruled out Jags goal at Stoke, which was correct decision and explained why he made decision. When it comes to tackles, decisions are completely inconsistent. Haaland tackles Mykolenko from behind while running at full speed, only gets yellow card, when he could of injured Mykolenko. Allan trips Newcastle player and gets sent off, when there was no intent to cause injury. Van Dyke should of been sent off for challenge on Onana. Refs are just making decisions based on what shirt a player is wearing.Refs do get dropped from games from time to time and on the other point, there’s been campaigning for refs to be allowed to explain their decisions but it’s either the leagues won’t allow it or Keith Hackett won’t, not that it’ll matter because fans won’t believe what they say anyway
What was this decision? Only just saw the the Lewis-Skelly red and that certainly isn't one of the worst in recorded history. CBA going back through the thread so apologies if it's something else.No mention of him making one of the worst decisions in recorded history then?

Gone are the days of being arsed about clubs like that.Burnley v Leeds finished 0-0. Very poor game to watch with 2 mediocre teams. No worries if either of these 2 come up next season.
