Have to say I was shocked at how old and slow City were.
It's not just defence either.
You have no legs in midfield and seem to have lost intensity throughout the team.
Spurs easily played through your press - that wouldn't have happened a couple of years ago.
You've gone from Mahrez and Sane to Silvinho and Doku / Grealish and that's some drop off in quality.
Agree that DeBruyne, Walker Gundogan and Silva are past their best but what the hell has happened to Foden - his form has fallen off the edge of a cliff.
Rico Lewis just looked like a little lost boy.
City have been sensational but I suspect that they need a massive clear out and re build.
That's not cheap and even they will face some PSR issues.
I'd be happy if this made the PL more competitive but sadly this just opens the door to the RS.
Losing Rodri is huge and it's having a knock on effect. He was our metronome who made us tick and the glue which made us stick. Foden losing his form is a mystery, hopefully he'll regain it soon.
Rico Lewis was great when we were playing well but he's not progressing this season. He's not a RB as he cand defend, not a midfielder either. He looks eager enough but he flatters to deceive and goes to ground far too easily as he's too small and lightweight, needs to bulk up on weight and muscle.
Yep, a clear out and rebuild is needed but it will take time. We'll probably not win the league this season and might not win anything but I'm fine with that, I just hope we can finish top 4, if not then it'll probably be Europa League which is not to be sniffed at.
As for PSR we're fine and have been operating at a profit for several years now. We have made about £500M from selling academy players which is pure profit and have somewhere between 250-300Min the bank waiting to sign players for straight cash, not amortisation staggered payments that Chelsea are getting players in on.
I think our dominance is over but a decline from being the best was inevitable and I'm fine with it.
