WTF is this on the BBC website today?

Shearer saying how it's 'exciting' that Newcastle could finish 7th.

1. That's not exciting.
2. How arrogant to assume the scab 6 will absolutely fill the top 6 slots.
3. What has become of football??

You could actually quote what he wrote about 'exciting times', but then of course your bitterness would appear even more bitter. :)

"It is really exciting times for Newcastle, considering where they were a few years back and at the beginning of last season. When Howe took over in November, the side were 19th in the table and five points from safety. Look at where they are now - and look at the hope that the city and football club has."

Bitter? About what?

Look at my post history - I really couldn’t care less about other teams and only frequent here because I have a lingering affinity with Everton.

I wasn’t commenting on Newcastle - it’s just a typical early season knee jerk article in that sense. I was commenting on the headline and assumed arrogance of the media and PL ‘elite’, that ‘best of the rest’ is all any teams other than the hype 6 can hope for.

Yes, that's fair enough. Perhaps I misconstrued what you had written and for that I have no hesitancy in apologising for it, and yes, I agree with you about the 'hype 6', they are very much there for the taking moving forward.

Tonight will show if Ten hag has what it takes to control a dressing room full of overpaid, underperforming diva's.

If they get hammered, he's in some serious trouble, got in form Southampton away next.
