Yet, it's not even as if Silva, KDB or Grealish (who is definitely out wide, not in the middle) are playing as wing backs, which you'd normally expect.

For one second, Stones is in midfield, but you then look again and he's the deepest defender. Credit where credit is due for Pep as I'm confused.

I agree: Pep currently appears to be getting the best out of him. Yet, if you'd have said to me a year ago that their defence would only be him, Akanki and Dias...

... I'd have laughed.

Sometimes it takes a season to settle in, Grealish is another one who has improved in his 2nd season.

Totally agree, but he's also made some bad interceptions and nearly given goals away.

He's one of those keepers who could play an absolute blinder and then piss it up the wall with a silly mistake soon after. He definitely increases your heart rate.
