Anyone actually got a decent explanation of that offside? Given that two Forest players boot it at the Newcastle player
The Newcastle player near the line was offside and had an affect on the way forest played it.
I know we want Newcastle to win but an offside goal is offside

I THINK that they’re trying to say the ball wasn’t “played” by the Forest player(s), but rather it was diverted by their defensive actions. I know from earlier in the season they made a change whereby if someone played a ball towards and offside player and, say, it took a nick off a defender en route, it was still deemed offside. This is not that, though. It wasn’t a deflection, it was a miskick. Feel awful for the lad. Perfectly good goal.

The change I can understand - it's reasonable.

This was just a farce - a ball booted at someone who's barely even in the play and apparently he controlled it with his arse and not only that but also passed it to his teammate (who was sat on the ground at that time) lol
