Even if you're not into the whole corruption fixed matches thing, which I'll be honest I'm not, the sheer ridiculousness of things like City barely having to use De Bruyne or Chelsea bringing in Ziyech because five other forwards were hurt and having him be the best player on the field make this whole "competition" utterly pointless for most of the clubs.

This is a fair comment. It is virtually impossible to break into the top echelons of football these days. I know Leicester had their moment in the sun but it is getting more difficult each year. I am no expert on football finance but I would imagine, for example, Newcastle with all their new wealth will hit the glass ceiling at some point, assuming they get promoted from the Championship at some point

Absolute idiot fan who has probably attended his last Timbers game, if not all of MLS. Mind you, the bottle hit the player’s elbow and then he grabbed his face.

Great look for MLS to have their blood money satellite club that still plays in a baseball stadium after 7 years (and no solution in sight) lifting the championship trophy. They must be very pleased.
