Probably, and lets not forget they've done that for all of the post-Ferguson managers. That club needs to bin off the backroom failures (Woodward) first or they'll be right back where they are now in about 18 months.

I'm only half joking here but the ideal next manager for them is Keane; he'd never win anything but to borrow a phrase of his numerous players in that squad deserve a punch in the face.
