I used to be fanatical about football but thankfully came to my senses over the years.

It genuinely looks bizarre to me these days when I see middle aged men in tears because of bad results, or other fellas over celebrating when their team gets a good result. Some moron who obsessively sits in the Kop every week is irrelevant to the multi millionaires who happily take his money to play a game of football, yet that sad act will make his support of a football club the basis of his entire identity and it’s really weird.
