Even if you allow free spending City, Chelsea and United (and I guess Newcastle now) have way more money than anyone else can be competitive with.

They have fully stacked out squads with the worlds best players in them. There’s no player in the world City or Chelsea can’t afford. FFP isn’t what is limiting them. Mangerial quality and keeping 22 world class players happy season after season is their challenge. Letting every team spend what they want wouldn’t give City Chelsea or Liverpool any further advantage, it would give huge advantage to us, Newcastle, Leicester, Wolves, Villa. The likes of Spurs Arsenal and Liverpool would be terrified by it.

I'm not sure why you think taking all spending rules away allows us to compete with teams worth 10x what we're worth. It's literally the opposite that is needed. Actual salary caps.

The teams at the top literally can’t get much better. They already have world class players in every position bought for humongous transfer fees and being paid eye watering wages. So if they were allowed to spend whatever they wanted they’d accumulate 22 world class players all on sky high wages, then no other player would want to join because they would know they’re not getting the most valuable commodity of first team football. Then a club like us would be able to pay the transfer fee and offer wages that would entice a world class player to us so that in time we would also be able to accumulate 22 world class players and therefore compete.

At the moment the top teams are still able to assemble world class squads but the teams below can’t because they’re co strained by FFP.

Oh I see what you're saying now.

But the problem is there are only so many world class players. City, United and Chelsea will still pick the 22 they want and they'll largely be better than what is left. It doesn't solve anything.
