17 finals, 14 wins, the European Cup/UCL is Real’s competition. The only teams to stop them winning every final are Benfica in 1962, Inter Milan in 1964 and the RS in 1981

To add to that, no team has beaten them in any European final since Aberdeen done it to win the old Cup Winners Cup in 1983

Since then their final wins have been as follows

85 - Videoton (UEFA Cup/Europa League)
86 - FC Koln (UEFA Cup/Europa League)
98 - Juventus (UCL)
2000 - Valencia (UCL)
02 - Leverkusen (UCL)
14 - Atletico (UCL)
16 - Atletico (UCL)
17 - Juventus (UCL)
18 - Liverpool (UCL)
22 - Liverpool (UCL)

They’ll now be favourites to win the Community Shield of European club football, the UEFA Super Cup, for a 5th time in 8 ties when they face Eintracht Frankfurt in Helskini, Finland on August 10th having previously beaten Feyenoord, Sevilla twice and Manchester United and losing to Chelsea, Galatasaray and Atletico

They will also compete in the World Club Cup, if it gets played pre or post World Cup, looking to win it for a 5th time under the present form, beating San Lorenzo, Kashima Antlers, Gremio and Al Ain previously. They had previously won the old format, the Intercontinental Cup on 3 occasions, beating Penarol (and losing to them the year after), Vasco De Gama and Olimpia and losing to Boca Juniors in their other final
Is it weird that I know videoton are a Hungarian team had no idea they ever reached a European final

Must have been during the days when Hungary players were bossing sides in Europe like puskas.

I’m sure they were in the champions league group stages not that long ago

Lost the UEFA final v Madrid in 85 .

My favourite part of this evening was when IQ of 4 Michael Owen thought rhe RS were Europe's best side despite losing the league and champions league. Think it was Ferdinand who said "Realky?" straight away.

In owen's defense they have the silver medal to prove it.

Yep, Liverpool really turn it on in cup finals.

Time played: 5 1/2 hours.

Goals scored: checks spreadsheet...errr...0

There's a reason why Liverpool suddenly don't score in finals.

In every final, teams have instructions to be more risk averse and to not concede.

Liverpool are downhill skiiers and beat the average teams comfortably and can take more risks in a regular game.

In the final, they've changed their style slightly to not concede, but its also harder for them to score.

Say what you like about Madrid, they handled Chelsea, Man City, and Liverpool (the PL top three) in successive rounds - and you can throw PSG in for good measure.

Fantastico.
Absolutely. As tough a route to victory as you'll ever find. Compare that Liverpool who had to beat Celta Vigo, Bochum, Lens and Kings Lynn and it makes you appreciate the European Champions all the more.
