I can see why Newcastle made a cheeky loan(?) bid for Palmer. No chance Pep would let him leave.
He won't. Palmer looks like he's the next player to break through after Foden and he's also a local lad from Wythenshawe, Manchester which i find pleasing. We also have a few other young uns to look out for, Salford lad James McAtee is an exciting midfielder who is now training with the first team squad. Harwood-Bellis is a CB who is doing well on loan at Blackburn, born in Manchester. We have another Manc lad, Tommy Doyle who is the grandson of former City players, Mike Doyle and Glynn Pardo. Then there's Callum Doyle,(no relation) a defender currently on loan at Sunderland who i believe is also doing well. Also another Manchester lad who Egan-Riley has played in the first team. We also have some other promising youngsters from England and abroad, but we are now the club that youngsters choose over United and that pleases me.
The way City develop and bring their younger players through puts us to shame
They don’t even need to do it this well with all their money but they still do it anyway
Their supporters are generally great with the younger players as well and really take pride in it
Mad they can get this right so often and we can’t
Our academy, was built on the land of a former chemical works called Clayton Aniline. It was brownfield land for years, and it took 2 years to decontaminate it.
We may not "need to do it" but the aim was to delelop our own stars longterm instead of buying them.
it's difficult to say who will make it out of the aforementioned players, plus a few others i haven't mentioned but yes, us local City fans are delighted to see homegrown talent starting to come through, especially at United's expense
