Matt Doherty is a cautionary tale about signing someone based on scoring a few goals over a 6 week time period.

Tbh more a cautionary tale of buying a player who has a very specific role in a very specific system, and then tossing him into a completely different one and expecting it to work perfectly.

Looks that way don't it, on the verge of going bust and many of the latest generation just don't look world class. They've made the exact same mistake as Liverpool in the 90s and United after Ferguson left. Been too slow to phase out the old guard, indulged egos for too long and pursued too many vanity signings.

Some very hard years ahead but if they can get Xavi in as manager that'll be a good move.

I think they have put in a few good performances but I can’t remember watching any. Horrendous against us but we were just worse. Very ordinary team but well drilled. Bizarre season.
