Leaving it very late to get business done again. City are two signings away from being contenders again - a top CB and a top striker. With Aguero chronically injured, getting by with just Jesus will not be possible to sustain a challenge. We also need some of our more established players to improve on last year's efforts. Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Ederson, Cancelo and Mendy must all improve dramatically.

In truth, he's been showing signs of age for 18 months. Nevertheless, a loss to the dressing room and still able to dazzle on occasion. Pep really can't afford to mess around much longer with Foden. This has to be his breakthrough year. Part of me dies when I see him on the bench and Rodri and Gundogan named in the same midfield.

Ferran Torres is an unknown quantity but seeing as Leroy Sane was injured all last season, you can't say it's a downgrade.

For me this City team is weaker than the City team who started last season.
