So, in future KC (usually an excellent pundit) and other female pundits could, on rare occasion, say something equally ridiculous (not because they are women, but because they are mistaken, ill informed or any number of things a male pundit could equally be) and no response (from the offended party) would be appropriate because they are women?
I think we both know that’s a oversimplification of the situation, but if it stops them from experiencing this level of abuse then yes, that is definitely the lesser of two evils.

Leeds have pulled up other pundits on social media in the exact same manner, so this is very much an example of double standards.

if people use a public platform to stick the boot in, don’t be surprised when it come back to vote you in the botttom.

Don’t be daft.

She made an off the cuff comment as a pundit, the Leeds Twitter account then stoked a fire, anybody with common sense should have known the abuse she would get.

I would bet a considerable amount that the reason this may not have been picked up on previously with other tweets is that the abuse she’s received versus other pundits will be a lot more severe. Because sadly many football fans are braindead sexist bellends who’s still think it’s funny to make Andy Gray level “bantz” jokes.

The comments by that pundit were absolutely ludicrous and it's hard to believe someone with a professional license to talk about football, could make those provocative comments. Maybe COVID did play a part in Leeds' promotion but her comment is just negating Leed's entire achievement.

Plus, it's not sexist to suggest that people like her are not hired, based on meritocracy but rather based on filling quotas, influenced by the culture of tokenism, which is what 90% of Leeds fans were saying.

I don’t see that it’s an oversimplification at all. It’s a straightforward question based on a given set of circumstances. You’ve given your view on it which I respect but don’t agree with.
Misogyny is wrong and should not be tolerated in any form but equality does come with responsibilities as well as rights. If someone, however inadvertently rubbishes your achievements on national tv you are, in my opinion entitled to reply. The law is there to deal with morons who abuse and I hope we come to a point where we are civilised enough not to have to rely on it and become a more tolerant place.

A fire! What, some people commenting on social media? People need to get a grip on reality.

So they're supposed to stop doing what they normally do just because she's a woman?

That I definitely agree on, but unfortunately the law doesn’t deal with issues regarding women well at all.

Unfortunately for the time-being I think we do have to have different behavioural standards for different groups who experience more social stigmatisation than others (i.e. if someone had well documented mental health problems publicly trashing them isn’t a wise idea, or obviously in this case maybe taking a bit more care how we treat females in an already difficult area)

Premier League might be able to squeeze the fixtures in, but what about Europe and the Cups?

I think a team in the Premier League who is still in Europe, FA Cup and League Cup, have around 38 games to play. The Euros start on the 11th June

If you got to all finals, you would have to play around 38 games in 23 weeks. That's 1.6 games a week.

What (or who) is going to give first?

So equality is not the yardstick? Bring a woman is not a special group, it is more than 50% of the population. She was quick enough to disparage the whole Leeds team and its manager’s accomplishment. Notice nobody calls for an apology over that!

If you want to be a public figure you have to develop a thick skin.

Don’t recall them tagging that persons employer

Agbonglahor said far worse in advance of Leeds match with villa and they didn’t tag talksport

Agbonlahor called Leeds a myth

This woman merely suggested that Leeds may not have got promoted if COVID had not happened. How dare she. Burn her alive like Joan of bloody arc for such an outrageous comment.

We aren't in Europe or the League cup anymore so as far as I'm concerned they can bin both of them off

Whatever is good for Everton is what should happen.

It’s a stupid opinion. They were the class of the league a season after narrowly losing out on promotion. They are continuing to improve.

I think Leeds are a naive team, but to dismiss their achievements is idiotic.

I don’t believe she dismissed their achievement. People will infer her comments differently. Maybe those people who have inferred it in that way should develop a thick skin.
