Why do PL refs have to be british? Can’t we just hire class foreign refs that can speak English?

But what about the keeper's attempt to win the ball?
Surely his best option was to keep running, launch himself towards the ball in the direction he was running and then punch it clear???
He was on a hiding to nothing trying to claim the ball like a bladdered Bruce Lee.

It’s genuinely bemusing. It also just makes question the legitimacy of every decision he makes from there on in. If he is blind enough to get that the wrong way, why should you trust any of his decisions. He’s just guessing. Hasn’t got a clue.

I mean the ref would of been 30 yards away at the absolute most in that situation. At the most, so I’m not sure how his mind has processed that’s obstruction by the Chelsea player when the keeper is lunging a flying kick with air time Tony Hawk would nod in appreciation....

I can’t believe how his mind saw differently than anyone else.

Only thing I can possibly think of is that he thought the keeper got a touch on the ball. But even so, I'd be saying that would still be a foul if he did.

You don’t even need to speak the same language I don’t think. Football is easy enough to follow and understand; it’s universal.
