Today’s Football 2019/20 Season

Few weeks ago, I mentioned West Ham along with us Leicester and Wolves, in terms of challenging top 6 and I was laughed at. 4 games in and they look fantastic, aside from that game against City.
You seriously think we’re going to “challenge” for anything? lol

Me too, I’m pretty fed up with the sport in general anyway. I’d say they might change it after learning from mistakes this season but then I remember it’s the FA and they won’t see any of these as mistakes.

In fairness, there were always going to be mistakes with VAR. I didn’t want it, but once it’s in there’s little you can do but get on board with it. There’s certainly fewer mistakes with VAR than there was without it.

My issue is with the length of time it takes for these decisions to be made. That and the signalling in the stadium to show that a check is being done. You end up with scenarios like the City-Spurs game where fans are celebrating for 2 or 3 minutes before they even realise it’s being disputed..... and then the agony of it being taken away.

That process needs streamlining.

Good side West Ham. Had so many injuries last season. If they keep Lanzini fit, they’ll be a great shout for top 7.

Haller looks a great signing thus far if he can carry on his Eintracht form. I don’t think Lanzini, Felipe Anderson, Diop or even Yarmolenko would look out of place in a top six side. Very good players but match fitness and injuries were a huge issue for them last year. They essentially lost 5 or 6 of their 1st choice XI for half the season.

Rice a good young player too. Pellegrini a very experienced manager who’s been successful everywhere he’s been. Seem to have many of the ingredients, particularly in attack but need it all to click.
Gotta remember whenever West Ham assemble a team with good homegrown talent, is when England will win the WC again.
