Incredible how many of those Barcelona players have been finished for years.

The fact that Vidal is starting for them at his age says it all.

Terrifying thing for them is the age of the squad. And they have just sold a 23 year old Brazilian international and bought another 30 year old.

All over 30. Griezmann is 29. The only quality younger players they have are Dembele, Fati and De Jong

The best thing they can do now is get a quality young manager as its going to be a long term job. Too much money on players that dont fit a system or havent shown the required quality.

Could be interesting if Barca appoint Koeman. That team needs a strong leader and a CB and if im not mistaken, Koeman has a very good relationship with a certain 'werld klass centre back'.

Never really rated Müller, but clearly if you ever want to absolutely wallop an opponent then he seems to be key to this.

He never looks like much, but he gets results. Never a one-man-army like Ronaldo, Bale or Maradona, but incredibly dangerous with a good team around him.

He's been poor. Apparently responsible for one of the bust ups recently too. They need a whole culture change aftet going down a similar galactico route of just signing big name players instead of players that fit.

Just had a whole "end of era" feel to it for Barca.

Just so many comparisons to the Brazil 1-7 Germany in the World Cup, you felt their good stars were past it, and just needed it confirming, but got embarrassed.

I look at Barca and scratch my head though, the money they've ploughed into signings which are baffling or just not the right mould. In the last 4-5 seasons heres a couple of examples....

Coutinho £130m

Whats that £600m, and none of it's worked. Worst of all that is Malcom, Coutinho, Gomes, Alcacer, Aleix Vidal have all been moved on and they're all signed for £30m+ abysmal recruitment. So lucky they've had a golden generation pass through the same time as Messi came through. That today is abysmal.
