The womens team is a unique situation because we've had such a huge headstart in the womens game compared to other nations. We will never have the talent advantage we have with the women in the mens game.
That's right. But expectations are different too. All I really want out of the men is to win these tournaments over Mexico sometimes, qualify for every World Cup and maybe one time push deep into the knockout round. If they win in my lifetime that would be incredible but I'm not expecting it.

Agree because of title 9 the situations are totally different and the gap is closing faster than people think.

They've already pushed deep in the knock out round.

I wasn't much older. I'm just saying it has happened before. Guess it's a dumb point on my part.

I'm just annoyed right now. Losing to Mexico with how dirty they play just always annoys me. I really think comparing them to the RS is a fair comparison. Their fans are delusional muppets.

No worries I'd just like to see a good run with my own eyes. 2010 was tough but that Donovan game was probably the moment that converted me into a full time football fanatic. 2014 was fun but realistically even if they beat Belgium they would have been embarrassed by Messi and Argentina. And then it just got kind of dark. All of the bad stuff finally caught up to them and now we sit here kind of unsure on how it'll all go.

And the RS comparison is totally fair. They've gone out in the round of 16 in something like 7 straight World Cups but because they have a huge following they think they're in the class of the really successful Latin American teams. They just aren't. And the behavior is awful too.

I enjoyed the run in 2002, I was however force fed the sport. So after 1998 which was awful it was amazing. The last year Bruce coached a team in the WC was such a trainwreck.

2014 was so fun. It seemed like it would get better. To beat Ghana who seemed like they always had our number and draw Portugal, should have won that game. Jermaine Jones goal in that game is one of my favorite ever. He's one of my favorite players. Love how he plays the game and his mix of physicality, defensive ability and little bit of offensive skill. He really is the perfect American player in terms of skillset in my opinion.

It all went downhill after losing to Belgium which was amazing. I wouldn't have cared about getting destroyed by Argentina. To beat that squad would have been a landmark. Howard was all over, then that bum decided to sky it from 6 yards out.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think firing Jurgen was absolutely the wrong decision.

Look at the team they field now. They practically encourage MLS play. Jurgen was calling guys out for playing in that trash bin.

I was thinking about Klinsmann earlier and really he had no chance. That team was awful. Pulisic was the best player at 19, he had to play Jones and Bradley because there were no other midfielders and the only half decent defender in Brooks is always hurt. He did what he could with a bad hand.

The Portugal match was a high water mark. We actually out played them. It wasn't even close. A mistake and Ronaldo pulling out some magic did us in but we were better. They won the Euros two years later. It's hard to believe that happened. And then Belgium just slaughtered us a week later. Downhill ever since really.

Just a massive nob isn't he:

NEYMAR NO-SHOW AT PSG

Neymar
has failed to report for pre-season Paris Saint-Germaintraining.

A statement from the Ligue 1 champions read: “On Monday, July, 8, Neymar was summoned for the resumption of activities of the professional group of Paris Saint-Germain.

“Paris Saint-Germain found that the player Neymar Jr did not show up at the agreed time and place, without having been authorized by the Club in advance.

“Paris Saint-Germain deplores this situation and will take the appropriate measures resulting from it.”

Neymar, who was pictured at Sunday’s Copa America final in Rio de Janeiro, is reportedly keen to leave PSG this summer and return to Barcelona.
