DCL isn’t an academy product? We signed him at 19 and he was in the first team within 3 months of signing.

Missed that but even then his fee £1.5 was near enough written off during his first contract following transfer his value in the 20/21 accounts was negligible

Trying to look at this calmly and objectively for once. As I understand it, the PL have had Everton’s accounts since October 2021. They have been checked over by the league, and also by an outside, independent auditor. Both have signed off on the accounts, and found no breach of P+S rules as they stand now (Everton have also been working closely with the PL on transfers etc to ensure there is no breach). Given these facts the PL cannot surely go back on this now? Any grievance has to be between the PL and the two crybaby clubs over the application of the rules doesn’t it? The PL cannot sign off on our accounts saying all is above board and then 7 months later go back on that and deduct us points, can they? That would surely unleash a terrible president. Unless I am missing a whole lot here (and I may be as I am no expert at all), the issue here is between the crybabies and the PL, not Everton.
I agree.

Only distinction is the PL do not approve our accounts. The statutory audit by BDO confirm the accounts are true and fair.

But we are assuming the PL HAVE approved the difference between the loss the accounts show (MASSIVE) and the loss we say is relevant to the P&S limit (much less massive). This difference has not been approved by auditors, it’s been guided by them.

I only just realised the 170m is mentioned in the CEO statement in the accounts. This section does not have to be audited, it has to be read and assessed for inconsistency with the audited sections of the annual statements. Given the importance of this number, BDO surely would have examined the evidence.

Hmm, I think he has a figure due to his wages, but even if we gave him away for free we would make a profit due to saving his future wages.
Not sure you are right in terms of wages impacting .Agents fees could impact I believe they are amortised over the period of the contract

The club have said, for some time, they have been approved.

I dont think points deductions can be added to a season that has finished.

I could be wrong.
Can you imagine the court case if they ever did something like that retrospectively. Absolutely going nowhere this nonsense, the two of them can bleat as much as they want but it'll fall on deaf ears. Accounts are signed off and if they're fraudulent people's liberties will be taken not points.
