toffeeman

Player Valuation: £150k
I don't know what everyone else thinks but surely this deal must be done. The price is a snip at 2.2m as quoted on toffeeweb, surely we can't let this lad go and still keep VDM on the books, if we don't sign him by the 30th April our agreement with Borussia runs out and the price will then double at least. COME ON BILL GET THE FUNDS!!!! this lads a bargain

I know what your saying apparently arsenal have been sniffing around, I just hope the lad see's sense and realises he's getting first team football here and fits in with the squad, hopefully bad memories from borussia will make him see sense

Its dated about 4 days ago, and who knows it could've been quoted weeks ago, but Moyes knows its a fooking bargin - Peanuts will probably get paid more here at the basic wage than he did for Dortmund on the bench.

I will be very VERY surprised if we miss the boat on this one. There's still 22 days to get it sorted and it only takes a second to sign on the line :D

I'm not worried (I think)

Just read this on another site interesting reading:-

"Steven Pienaar has spoken to South African sports media about the prospect of signing for Everton, and although he wants to stay at Goodison Park, he insists the "clock is ticking" on the deal.

When asked if he was contemplating a move away from the Blues, he said, "At this stage, no. I have enjoyed my time here, as I said. But the clock is ticking for me because I have a maximum transfer fee of 3-million Euros (approximately 2.2-million Pounds) in my contract with Dortmund that is only valid until 30 April.

“I cannot allow this deadline to expire because this is a transfer fee that is affordable to a number of clubs, particularly in the Premiership. So reasonably speaking, I can only wait for a few more days for Everton to reach agreement with Dortmund. If that's not going to be forthcoming, then I will then need to pursue the other options that I may have and finalise everything by the end of April.

"I came to Everton with the aim of establishing myself in the Premiership. I have worked really hard and tried to play my part in helping the club have a memorable season so far and I have enjoyed my time here.

“I've had to adapt to the way the game is played here and the style of Everton, but I think I have done well and much more than that in my first season in a new league would be a difficult to achieve.

“The fans have also been so fantastic – the way that they get behind the team and the way that they have accepted me has been special."

The rumour I heard is he wants £1-2 million signing on depending who you believe and to be top earner if true hes no bargain and can close the door on his way out strange he has not played since the rumours started:huh:

I'm not his biggest fan, i think he's a good little player but a tad over-rated by our fan's.

If he doesn't sign then i won't be as gutted as everyone else but he's still a very good player but not someone i'd cry about if we lost him.

I've been told he's not signing anyways.

He wanted assurances that we were moving to Kirkby and wanted a deluxe penthouse in Quarry Green, Wyness went nuts and got a grip of him. As a result, he wont be signing.

taps ear*

Ah apparently, he want's to become the top earner at the club, and is trying to squeeze every last penny out of us.

There are other club's after him so do not be suprised if this doesnt happen.

I'd not even heard of this 30th April deadline til reading the thread just now

I'd love him to sign, think he's a cracking little player, and for the price mentioned you're not going to get anyone better. But who knows, I'm sure Moyesey has got other players in mind if this falls through (y)

Moyes is a complete fool if he lets Pienaar go for the sake of a decent wage and a 2.2m fee. He has said it himself we need quality not quantity, so time to put his money where his mouth is and sign him.

I really really would be shocked and pretty pissed off if Moyes opt's not to sign him. If he never had something Ballack-esq lined up to replace him, then I'd have to go round his gaff and have a quiet word.

I like the way Pienaar plays and I'm pretty sure I ain't the only one, this is supposed to be entertainment after all. Even the more talented squad members enjoy playing his style of football (Arteta for one).

No. I just can't see Moyes not signing him, no matter what Cal's 100% bullet-proof "never been wrong before Guv honest" ear to the ground mate says...
