I thought he was mostly fine. A couple of bad moments sure but by and large didn’t do much good or bad. Just a fine game. Nothing like the disaster people are making out.

The yellow was one of those ones where you can’t get bypassed and he had one poor pass which was really a poor decision on which way to go. But that’s not really the end of the world.

Gana was unleashed today to chase the ball so Tim’s job was basically to not be noticed. Hold his spot and keep us sturdy. We were on top for most of the time he was on so I can’t really subscribe to the idea he was terrible.

We’ve seen him really struggle against Leeds. This wasn’t that.

I agree with all of this. I just think he has the ability to do so much more. Just get the ball and ball. And get in position if we lose it.

You're wrong mate. He can do great things with a football. He just can't figure out how to play his position at this level.

I mean you’re contradicting yourself there really. If he can’t figure out how to impact a game in the top flight, is he actually top level? You can be the best technician on the planet, but if you can’t apply it whatsoever, you’re not that great as a professional footballer.

He can receive the ball under pressure and beat the press in midfield with skill and strength. He did it multiple times against Brighton and against Bournemouth last season. In this moments he looks like a player. But he also has moments where he looks lost. It's not that hard to understand.

He has the attributes to be a lot better than he is.

9 times out of 10 it’s a noticeable drop off when he plays in midfield instead of Garner.

Someone has to carry the fight to the opposition, we need that spark, that energy, that running to get the side moving. I won't go so far as to say Moyes has given him a free role, but I reckon he has told him to get stuck in, it's when the game has advanced and he's covered his ground that either his concentration breaks or he slows down that little bit and then inevitably gets booked. Fortunately, I believe Moyes is prepared for this and has told him so, he'll sub him and remove the danger of being a man down. The more games he gets, the more discipline he'll learn, and we need that midfield battering ram to keep opposition hatchet men off Illy and Grealish and Gana.

It is hard to understand because the whole idea of being elite is being able to consistently replicate what you’re great at, week in, week out. Using two matches 12 months apart seems a bit of a stretch to claim someone has those skills and it’s not just a bit of a fluke.

I honestly dont know what to think of this guy, firstly I cannot pronounce his name but mainly everything seems to slow down when he receives the ball. He is also very fond of playing the ball backwards.
